I was dying to do a count down for V-day. I saw a few online that I loved. Unfortunately I don’t have a Michaels or craft store anywhere near me, which limited what I could create. One afternoon I decided to take a mini road trip to Target which is about 1 hr. away and soon realized that I could create an awesome V-day countdown and for only $4.00.
I bought a super cheap $1 pizza pan, $1 V-day wrapping paper, and some plastic hearts for $1 a bag (I bought 2). I used my Cameo to cut out the numbers and heart and letters and VOILA!!! I love it. I used hot glue to adhere everything to everything. I have a hook right by the kitchen that I hung it on and it looks fantastic. I filled each heart with an activity to do on each day up to Vday. The boys are super excited!
I also did a wreath. I bought a wreath from the dollar store. I had T-shirt yarn laying around so I used that to cover the wreath and also made a braid to hang it from. I made 2 rosettes using 2 sheets of felt, one in black and one in gray. I happened to have them left over from my Angry Birds Backpack. I don’t have any girls so pink things aren’t just laying around, but I love how the black and gray looks. Just enough sexy and romantic. I had extra paint chips (those I did have in pinks and reds). I cut a few into tiny triangles and then glued a red heart on top of it, also made from paint chips and a heart shaped punch. I took some raffia and opened it in half, glued the hearts in it, then closed the raffia up again. I love love love my love wreath.
I made both of these items for less than $8 FOR BOTH and without a Michaels. Woo-Hoo.
